Our Inspiration

"Uvukwabafile"- To rise from the dead.

Southern Africa is home to a truly magical plant known in English as the Resurrection Bush and to the Zulus as Uvukwabafile. The name is owed to its unique ability to seemingly come back to life even after years without water. Steeped in mystical, magical and medicinal history, the Resurrection Bush lives up to its reputation, proving to be invaluable in the treatment of a myriad of diseases and ailments.

Uvukwa Organics was founded in reverence of this plant - and other indigenous plants like it - and their healing abilities. It is our hope to re-introduce the knowledge and use of these ancient plants to the modern world. They are the heroes of our story.

Our Beliefs

At Uvukwa Organics we have made it our mission to capture the pure healing power of plants to create potent and safe products for everyone.

Every plant ingredient we add has a purpose, is all-natural and locally grown in South Africa.

Needless to say our products and packaging are low impact - fairly traded, recyclable and reusable.

Trehalose and Galloylquinic acid are known to increase the cell membranes plasticity, defending it against environmental factors and oxidative damage

Baobab - The king of African trees. The baobab has been used for centuries as a food source, water source, shelter and so much more. The oil extracted from the seeds is used widely in cosmetics for its ability to moisturise the skin but also to prevent water loss, increase the skins elasticity, increase the healing rate of the skin and to create a protective barrier. this is just scratching the surface of this trees abilities.

Blue Waterlily - A soothing and nourishing antiseptic and topical anti-inflammatory. The blue waterlily has been shown to balance the oiliness of the skin, and act as a natural moisturiser that has incredible anti-ageing, anti-oxidant, anti-microbial and anti-fungal abilities
